Clarksons Research is closely tracking the use of green technology. Data show that the carbon dioxide emissions of the shipping industry are about 851 million tons (822 million tons in 2021, and 1.024 billion tons in 2008), accounting for 2.3%of the world's.

Steve Gordon, managing director of the company, said that of all new ship orders from January to September 2022, 59%of the tonnage used alternative fuel (removed the LNG transport ship, this proportion was 43%). 54%of them (288 orders, 27 million tons) are LNG dual fuel power, 2.9%are methanol fuel (19 orders, 1.4 million tons) power, 0.7%are ethylene fuels (8 orders, 400,000 total total total, total 400,000 total total Tons) Power, 1.3%is a battery hybrid power. In addition, 12.7%of orders are ammonia fuel reservations (73 orders, 6.3 million total ton), 1.2%orders are LNG fuel reservations (20 orders, 600,000 tons), 0.1%orders are hydrogen hydrogen is hydrogen Fuel reservation. All these tonnages have exceeded the current supply capacity of replacement fuel. The use of multiple fuels or reserved fuels has become a trend to prepare for future increases.

In 2021, 31.5%of new ship orders used alternative fuels (479 ships), higher than 2020 in 2020 and 46 orders in 2016.

The proportion of ships with alternative fuels has been rising, calculated in tonnage, more than 4.8%of the existing fleets available for alternative fuel power. In 2021, the data was 3.7%and 2.3%in 2017. There are currently more than 320 global fleet reserved for LNG fuel.

43.8%of the handheld orders can use alternative fuels, 28.2%in 2021, and 10.4%in 2017.

In handheld orders, 38.9%of the tonnage will use LNG fuel (781 ships), 2.2%of LPG fuel (86 ships), and 4.3%of other alternative fuels (about 260 ships, including 42 methanol, 11 ethyne, and creatures Five fuels, 12 hydrogen ships, battery/hybrid power nearly 200). Another 99 orders are LNG fuel reservations, 130 ammonia fuel reservations, and 6 hydrogen fuel reservations.

More than 4,838 ships of the current fleet were installed with desulfurization tower (including ships planned to be modified), which was equivalent to 24.9%of the total tonnage. Although the desulfurization tower modification activity has slowed down, from about 120 sets in September 2020 to 15 sets of September 2022, the installation rate of the new ship desulfurization tower increased slightly. 60 of the new ship orders to date will be installed with desulfurization tower. The current price difference between HSFO and VLSFO is still very large (Rotterdam Port is US $ 210, and the port of Singapore is $ 320).

More than 5,550 ships were installed with energy -saving technology (EST), accounting for 24.5%of the total tonnage. About 70.6%of the tonnage has been installed with pressure -loading system.

The average age of the global fleet is increasing, and the total tonnage is calculated as 12.2 years (higher than 9.7 years in 2013). Among them, the average boat age of bulk cargo ships is 11.5 years, the tanker is 12.1 years, and the container ship is 14.2 years. The world's 28.1%tonnage exceeds 15 years. According to the CII regulations, about 40%of the current oil tankers, bulk cargo ships and container ships will be rated as D or E in 2026 when the speed is unchanged and does not transform.

The current handheld order accounts for about 10%of the existing fleet capacity. Among them, container ships account for 27.2%, bulk cargo ships account for 7.0%, and oil tankers account for 4.5%.

The infrastructure of the "Green" port is continuously expanding. At present, there are 154 LNG injection ports in the world, 98 injection facilities in the planned, and more than 1,700 ships have installed shore electricity equipment.
